Matthew Lincoln is a Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, and a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney.  He is the founder of Lincoln IP.

Matt’s technical background is in physics and mathematics, and he has considerable experience of advising clients across a range of engineering disciplines.  Matt’s practice is centred around the oil and gas, offshore and subsea industries and he has a particular interest in strategic portfolio management, IP due diligence, and IP litigation support. 

Matt was a patent examiner at the UK Intellectual Property Office before turning to private practice in 2000.

Matt is recognised as a “Patent Star – Scotland” in the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) IP Star rankings.
